Below is a recap of last week’s Albion College esports matchups. The team was very busy, as almost all of its leagues and squads were in action.

Below is a recap of last week’s Albion College esports matchups. The team was very busy, as almost all of its leagues and squads were in action. 

On Monday, SSBU played against Central Maine Community College. Heath Lapointe played very well for the Brits, but Albion was not able to overcome CMCC. Ultimately, the Britons fell 2-0.

On Tuesday, Joaquin Toro took on the College of Staten Island in EA FC.  After a game one defeat he turned it around with a lead starting the next game, but CSI took over the game in the second half and defeated Albion 2-0. Rocket League had a double header for the GLEC starting with a match against Manchester University, dominating in a sweep, leading Albion to their first GLEC win with the match score of 4-0.

In the second match of the night Rocket League took on Illinois Wesleyan University.  Game one started with a close overtime loss, but Albion was able to bounce back game two tying up the series. IWU built up momentum in game three, winning the match 4-1.

In dominant fashion, Albion Valorant won the match 2-0 against Randolph-Macon. 

Fortnite started off the week by taking second in their first match and then eighth in the following competition.

In 2K, Julian Pacheco played against SUNY-New Paltz to earn Albion the 2-0 win. In Albion’s other 2K game, Logan Sosnowski played against Messiah University, getting another 2-0 victory for the Britons.

In Wednesday’s Rocket League match against Concordia University Wisconsin, the Britons went all seven games.  Overall Albion took down Concordia with a match score of 4-3.

On Thursday, Valorant opened BHEL play with a match against Adrian, with the Bulldogs winning 2-0. That same day, Overwatch played against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, falling 3-0. Rounding out Thursday, Fortnite builds had another great showing getting 19th, 22nd, and 8th in each of their matches.
