How Elemental Infusions Work in Path of Exile 2 Currency Practice
When you pick up an infusion, your next compatible skill will automatically consume one stack. Not every skill interacts with every infusion, which forces players to think creatively about their builds.
Single-element compatibility:
Many skills are designed to synergize with only one infusion type. For example:
Spark works with Cold Infusion, but not Fire or Lightning.
Arc uses Lightning Infusion, but ignores Cold and Fire.
Multi-element compatibility:
A select few skills are much more versatile. For instance:
Fire Storm can combine with both Cold and Lightning Infusions, creating devastating combinations.
When all three are combined, Fire Storm can unleash a triple-element barrage visually stunning and mechanically powerful synergy that rains fire, lightning, and ice simultaneously.
This design choice prevents the mechanic from cheap POE 2 Orbs being too overpowered while rewarding players who experiment with diverse setups.
