Islam's Message of Unity: Combating Racism in Today's Society

Comments · 32 Views

Almost every social media site is full of anti-racism or racism post. People are now talking about denying the racism. Western culture has just recognised the issue but Islam has denied it for many years. Hajj and Umrah tours are the great examples of denying the Racism.

Well, being a Muslims we still have to face the criticism. It was the last sermon of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that says:

“All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor does a black have any superiority over a white except by piety and good action”.

So, the issue was already addressed by the Muhammad (PBUH). America now needs to understand the core of the religion. Let me highlight some of the specific points that clearly mention the denial of Islam about racism.

4 Main Reasons Show Islam Is Against the Racism

Islam has never promoted any of the racism, all superiority is based on the humanity and the good deeds you do. So, the righteousness is the only measurement for your character and no one is to judge other than Allah Almighty.

1.       All Mankind was created from Clay

Each of the men is created with the clay and the end of life will also be in the clay. So, what else is left? You’re English, Arabian or African, everyone is going in the grave of 2 inches. If all individuals are made of the clay, then there is nothing for a man to brag about him. Just imagine the pot of clay, it seems heavy and full of coins, broke in a minute and coins will be shattered on the floor. Someone else will up all the coins and the pot is of no use now. This is somehow the reality of human life.

2.       Tribalism is prohibited in Islam

Nowadays we are all divided into different tribes. At the times when Prophet (PBUH) has established the state of Madinah, it was clearly told to the people that they are equal to each other. They shared properties and other resources with each other just to ensure the brotherhood between them.

3.       Righteousness is the only superiority level

There is no such thing as superiority among the Muslim fellows. It’s all about sharing the harmony and be humble and kind to each other. A man is supposed to be more humane than being proud of his 5-time prayers or better Quran recitation or Hajj and Umrah tours. So, be righteous but be kind and humble and have faith in Allah (SWT).

4.       The diversity of cultures is the sign of anti-racism

Just look at the human race, everyone has different cultures, people have different lifestyles. Black, white, Arabian, everyone lives a completely different life. there is much diversity everywhere in Islamic states which shows that Muslims are respectful to the cultures and still practice their faith gracefully.

Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colours. Verily, in that are signs for people of knowledge.

Surat Ar-Rum 30:22

So, if someone is stuck with the matter of racism and is unable to figure out the responsibility of Islam in the matter Remember that, Islam is the religion of peace and have nothing to promote this superiority complex among people. This is the religion to promote humanity and love among the nations. However, it is the individual personality trait that teaches you to respect others regardless of the colour of skin and cast.
